Episode 69: Elon Musk – Man of the Future

Elon Musk was so smart as a child that IBM couldn’t even rank him on their scale for computer programmers.
He started Zip2 in the 90s and sold it to create PayPal, and ended up with hundreds of millions of dollars as a result. After that, Musk decided to spend his own fortune funding the two things that matter the most to him—combatting climate change with renewable energy and making sure the human race colonizes worlds other than Earth. For the climate change, he started the amazingly innovative Tesla Motors and Solar City. To get to space (specifically Mars), he created Space X, the largest civilian space organization in America with its Falcon 1 and Falcon 2 rockets. His side projects include the Hyperloop (an travel system that would get you from LA to San Francisco in 35 minutes), and OpenAI. Musk is worried that Artificial Intelligence will either make one small group super powerful, or it will autonomously rise to destroy humanity, and his plans are to create an open source AI that is free to the world, so nobody is left behind. Elon Musk is hands down one of the most interesting people on the planet Earth today, and this episode will drop some knowledge about him that you won’t want to miss.
